  • Principal Investigator: Chika Ezeanya-Esiobu Ph.D.:

Dr. Chika Ezeanya-Esiobu is presently a senior lecturer in the College of Business and Economics of the University of Rwanda. Dr. Chika holds a Ph.D. in African Development and Policy Studies from Howard University in Washington D.C. and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Warwick in Coventry, England. At the core of Chika Ezeanya’s research interests is the multidisciplinary exploration of indigenous knowledge, homegrown, and grassroots-based approaches to the sustainable advancement of Sub-Saharan Africa. Among her previous research works include for such organizations as the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), the World Bank.

  • Nelson Ijumba Ph.D.:

Professor Nelson Ijumba is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs and Research at the University of Rwanda. Professor Ijumba holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. Previously he was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Professor of Electrical Engineering. His affiliations include, Professional Engineer, Registered Engineer in both Kenya and Tanzania, Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), and also a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He has served in various positions in higher education in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.

 

  • Marie Christine Gasingirwa Ph.D.:

Dr. Marie-Christine Gasingirwa is currently the Director General for Science, Technology and Research (DGSTR) in Rwanda’s Ministry of Education. Dr. GASINGIRWA received a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Namur, Belgium in 2009. In 2001 she obtained an MSc Degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from the University of West Texas A&M, USA. In 1979, Dr. GASINGIRWA graduated from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) with a BSc (Hons.) in Zoology and Biochemistry, had earlier earned an (SI) Certificate in Secondary School Science Teaching, (Biology-Chemistry) from the Kenya Science Teachers College (Kenya). She is the author of a number of scientific articles in international journals.
